Easter!!

Easter is surely coming!! Here is some handy and pretty easy crafts to keep your egg in place! : )

Cinderella's Tabletop Easter Chicks

Inspired by Cinderella:
For Cinderella, morning at Lady Tremaine's chateau was an especially busy time of day. Between filling Lucifer's bowl with milk and preparing tea and porridge for Drizella and Anastasia, she had to feed the horses and hens. Still, come springtime that was one chore that had its rewards when she'd be greeted by the latest crop of newly hatched Easter chicks. Like Cinderella, no doubt your child will consider the task of rounding up a collection of these chubby felt chicks pure pleasure. Tie name tags around their pipe cleaner legs to turn them into adorable holiday place cards or favors that young guests can take home after Easter dinner.

What you'll need

• Chick templates
• Scissors
• Straight pins (for securing the template pieces to the felt)
• Felt (yellow and orange)
• Orange pipe cleaners
• Hot glue gun
• Googly eyes

How to make it

1. Print the template and cut out the pieces. Use the cutouts as patterns to cut out two felt body shapes and a pair of wings for each chick.
2. 
   To create the chick's legs, bend a 7-inch pipe cleaner length in half and twist the ends together a few times just below the bend.
3. 
   For feet, twist a 2-inch pipe cleaner length around the bottom of each leg, as shown.
4. 
   Cut out a small triangular beak from the orange felt and glue it to the edge of one of the body pieces.
5. 
   Glue the top of the legs to the bottom of the body.
6. 
   Glue the second body piece on top of the first one, matching up all the edges. Attach a wing to each side of the body, applying glue along one edge of the felt, as shown.

   When the most humble of art supplies meets the shell of a just-boiled egg, the crayon wax softens, and the colors swirl together in a magical way. The results are fast, fun, and gorgeous.

   What you'll need

   • white eggs
   • tongs
   • empty egg carton
   • crayons

   How to make it

   1. Hard-boil white eggs. Remove them from the hot water with tongs or a slotted spoon, dry them, and rest them in an empty egg carton or on plastic bottle caps (an adult's job).

   
   

   
   

   1. Color them with the crayons' tips or remove the paper coverings and use the crayons' sides. For a speckled effect, grate a crayon and sprinkle the bits over the eggs. The waxy eggs are very slippery, so take care when turning them to color the underside.

Kidshealth.org

Well, I found this really cool website and I thought that you guys might find it interesting! Its called Kidshealth.org ( I do not own ) and it has all different topics for kids, teens, and parents. These flashy rings let a kid wear her heart on her finger. Cupid's Tip: If you make your ring from craft foam, you won't need a hole punch; simply poke the pipe cleaner through the foam.

What you'll need

• Scissors
• Craft foam or card stock
• Faux fur fabric (optional)
• White glue
• Small hole punch
• Pipe cleaner
• Faux jewels, buttons, craft foam shapes, etc
• Marker or pen (optional)

How to make it

1. 
   Cut a heart shape from craft foam or card stock. If you use fabric, first glue a small piece of the fabric to foam or card stock, allow the glue to dry, then cut out the heart shape.

Unless you're working with foam (see Cupid's Tip, above), use a small hole punch to make 2 holes, centered, in the heart. Cut a 4-inch length of pipe cleaner. Bend it in half and push the ends through the holes from front to back as shown.

Place the ring on your child's finger to measure the size. Twist the pipe cleaner ends together until the ring fits comfortably. Remove the ring and trim and tuck any excess pipe cleaner.

Glue on faux jewels, buttons, craft foam shapes, or other items for decoration. Allow the glue to dry. Use a marker or pen to write a few words on the back of the ring, if you like.

Cupid's Tip: If you make your ring from craft foam, you won't need a hole punch; simply poke the pipe cleaner through the foam.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful celebration and Happy Holidays! Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I thought I'd give you guys a few crafts for the love-filled Holiday!! Activities from Spoonful.com

Book Of Love

Total Time 1 hour Ages all-ages

Kids already have Mom's heart pretty well sewn up, but there's no sense taking chances, and this whimsical notepad leaves no doubt as to who holds the strings.

What you'll need

• Red paper
• White paper
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Yarn

How to make it

• Cut out a red paper heart (ours is about 6 inches across). Trace and cut out 10 to 20 more from white paper. Stack up the hearts in bunches of five, folding each bunch down the middle.
• Using a tapestry needle, poke holes every 1/2 inch down the center folds (young kids will need Dad's help with this step).
• Stack the hearts together with the cover on top.
• Thread the needle with yarn, knot one end, then sew it through the holes, knotting it at the other end.
• Decorate the cover and seal with a kiss.
